I had a great time in Tahoe, but it was nice to be home. Little did I know that what I thought was going to be a lazy afternoon on the couch turned into swimming at our 2nd home and drinking into the wee hours of the night. Bathing suits optional.

Friday at the Lake 173/192

We had to have lunch at our normal hang out, The Beacon Bar & Grill. As usual it did not dissapoint. Rum Runners=Yummy goodness.




Then we drove around and ended up at a craft fair where we got to pet wolves and bought jewelry made by Guatemalan women that helps keep them out of sweat shops.






Then it was back to the hotel to relax by the pool and get ready for a fabulous dinner at Riva.

Mom, Rhonda, Allyne and I spent a few days in Tahoe on a girls getaway. It was fabulous. This is upon our arrival in our "final room" The first room was freakishly small and we just can't have that. Where would we set up the bar???

I snuck away from work early today to join Jen and Alex on the quest for the perfect wedding locale. We visited the Viaggio Winery. I thought it was beautiful, but Jen doesnt want to risk the rain/mud situation since they will be getting married in the spring. So the search continues.

We took the boat out for a Delta cruise and had lunch at Moore's River boat. It was a very nice afternoon and a great way to spend time with Papasan on fathers day.

Beer Tasting 167/198

Travis and I went to Kevin and Elizabeth's house to do some beer tasting. We are trying to determine what type of beer we want for our keg in Oregon. Of course that required us to bbq. We wanted to keep things pretty simple and picked up a huge variety of sausage from Lockeford Meats and a few Oysters. When I mentioned that I was still in need of a blog picture, the 3 of them so graciously offered to model our dinner for me to photograph. Aren't they clever?

After bitching for about a year about only having my iPhone for a few weeks (thanks Trav!) I finally decided to just use my iPod touch to download some of the games I want to play. I can officially say that I love words with friends. Although, I do feel that I should be able to contest some of the bogus made up words that people play. I know that you do not know what these words mean..you are just plugging in letters until they are accepted. You know who you are.

Clean sheets on the bed require clean mutts. Unfortunately, they were less than enthused about being sprayed down in the shower. They should consider themselves lucky though, I have seriously contemplated loading ALL the dogs in the back of my truck and driving through the car wash. Kidding...sorta :)

Have you ever seen a piece of jewerly and thought to yourself "Who would wear that?" Well, thats what I thought when I first saw this fancy little ring. Then it dawned on me, *I* would wear something like that! (especially since it was on clearance for like $4). I am waiting for just the right occasion to show off my fancy little friend.

I went to the dr. for my annual peak and poke molestation appointment. You would think the least he could do would be to buy me a drink or at least take me to dinner. Call me old fashioned, but I like to at least make them work for the goodies, but I digress.

I was pacing around the room waiting for my date to show up and browsing through the cabinets looking for something to take a picture of for my blog. I was tempted to ask the nurse to take a picture of me laying on the table, but alas I do have some boundaries. Anyways, I stumbled upon this little gem. I would like to repeat WTF??? My mouth won't even open that wide (trust me I measured). I am fearful. I kept looking for a disclaimer that would tell me that objects in the picture are not as big as they look. Unfortunately, thats not the case.

Part of me wishes I would have just taken the picture of me on the table and not burnt this picture in my mind.

No, I did not just crawl out of the swamp. I was giving myself a facial using mud from the dead sea. Well, thats what they told me when I bought it. It came from a little shop at the Lodi Farmers Market. It is probably scooped right out of the pasture from a local dairy.

Today I went to a bridal shower for a very sweet girl. Amie is engaged to marry our friend Jeff. She is incredibley nice and a great person. I think Jeff is very lucky to get to marry her and I am very excited to be a part of their big day.

Cody came home for the weekend!!! Yeah, I had someone to play with all weekend. Too bad the boat broke down and we had to just sit at Garlic Bros. and drink instead of cruise the Dirty D. Oh well, it was nice to have him home. Next time I'm going to L.A.

Ahhh, Taco tuesday on the boat. I wait all winter for this day. The first day...also known as full on drunken debauchery and taco eating. It was the Free Willies Maiden Voyage to Taco tuesday. I like to think that we broke him in right. Me, dad, Todd, Raphael, Mel, Allyne, Kevin and Liz...sounds like a recipe for a good time, and a wicked hangover for most of my coworkers on wednesday.

Pool Crashing 154/211

I really really really wanted to go swimming today. Unfortunately, I don't have a pool. Not having something I want is usually not reason enough for me. I just had to find a way to get it. So I crashed a hotel pool in Lodi! Me, Allyne and the kids headed to the pool (I can't reveal which hotel we went to...I want to keep my sources a secret) and spent the day lounging in the sun. Quite a nice way to spend a sunday if I do say so myself.

Travis and I went to a birthday party for our friend Stacy up in Elk Grove tonight. It was an awesome party. The backyard had a beautiful pool and was decorated very cute with a hawaiian theme. Unfortunately, I am lame and forgot to take a single picture. All I had was the Lei I was wearing. So in honor of the party, here is a picture of my lei.

He started out sleeping outside. Then he moved into the house and slept on Momo's old bed. Now he has started peaking at me and giving me the puppy eyes. So of course that means that he now sleeps in the bed with us.

Farmers Market 151/214

Tonight was the first thursday night farmers market of the year. It was pretty fun. Allyne and I went and one of the booths was Project Thank you. It was run by a woman whose son was getting ready to deploy. They had cards to send to soldiers. I wrote one and so did Allyne. Hopefully they will get to someone and help brighten thier day.

I had to buy pig ears in bulk for the Iditarod team. They (Ollie, remember him? The dog I am not keeping) have chewed just about everything they can get thier mouths latched onto. I am hoping that by tossing some pig ears it will at least slow down the destruction.
