Today was a "lazy" day. I woke up and went to have lunch with Mom, Dad and Cody before Cody had to hop on a plane to head back home. I then went home and got back in bed about 1:30 in the afternoon and stayed there for the rest of the night. Pictures were the least of my worries.

Engaged and Scared! 300/65

Tonight, we went to a halloween party for the first time in years! Normally, we host the party, but with everything going on, we didn't have it this year. Instead, we got to relax and enoy the festivities while someone else did all the work!
We went to an engagement / halloween party for our friends Kevin and Liz. It was incredible! Janene and the family did an great job. There were definitely some interesting costumes, one the them belonging to Travis. He chose to dress as a retired Hooters waitress. Picture that if you will.
Anyways, in true oakie fashion a bunch of us pulled our toy haulers to the house so we could all drink it up and then pass out in the comforts of our rolling "home."
I would also like to add that I am the beer pong champion. I'm not sure if that surprises anyone. It's almost as if I was born for drinking games.

Preston Castle 299/66

I went to a haunted castle for dinner tonight.

Mom got tickets thru her elite player status at the casino (haha) to visit an old Boys Prison for a "ghost walk" and dinner. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. I absolutely believe in ghosts and I think that there are more than likely some in this castle. Fortunately, there was also copious amounts of wine there tonight so it was really a win/win situation.

**Somehow I got my dates all screwed up. The trip to Preston Castle was actually on thursday.

Last Saturday I couldnt remember what the heck I had done or if I had taken a picture. Well, when I was scrolling thru my phone I found this lovely image and it all came rushing back to me. I went bridesmaid dress shopping with Jen and Lori!!! Of course that meant I got to dress them up like my little barbie dolls and I forced them to try these dresses on. I think we should have done a Romy and Michele style wedding party, but alas it wasnt my decision.
We did decide on another dress, but I think if Jen gets enough people begging, we could probably convince her to go with these.

Sadie Escapes 292/73

Meet Sadie. She is my friend Greg's dog and I love love love this little brat so much. She is the sweetest little chunk you have ever met (except Momo, no one compares to him). Well, thursday night I got a phone call that Sadie and Sasha had escaped and ran away. He was pretty upset and spent most of the night looking for them, but ended up heading home alone. The problem with Sadie and Sasha is that they are both pit bulls and people have such a bad impression of these wonderful dogs. I was really worried about the girls. Sasha is only a puppy and pretty much glued to Sadies hip, so at least I figured they were together. Friday morning at work I started searching the pound website to see if they had been picked up. I couldnt find them and I was really getting worried that they had gotten hit by a car or something. Then I got a phone call from our other friend Brandon who lives near Greg. He had Sadie and Sasha!!! He was leaving for work and saw them out in his front yard. The problem was that he couldnt take them back to Gregs house because everything was locked up and he couldnt leave them at his house because the girls can't go outside with his dogs. Since I work with Greg and am the biggest sucker in the world for doggies, I volunteered to take his house keys and go pick up the dogs and take them home. When I got there, it was obvious that Sadie had used her chubby little body to bust out and there was no way I was going to be able to keep her contained. Greg said to chain her little escaping ass up and not to worry about Sasha because she won't go anywhere without Sadie. So this was the saddest little face I have ever seen. I felt like a monster chaining her up. I was so worried about her I made her a bed and then went and hid inside the house so I could watch her for a little while to make sure she didn't have a problem being chained up. She immediately layed down and started snoring. Apparently, slutting around town the entire night before had taken its toll.

Apple Pie, the Mini Version 291/74

Lately, everyone at work has been talking about apple pie. I have no idea what sparked this obsession, but it has been about a week long topic in the shop. I finally decided to break down and bake my very first apple pie. But I am Kelly and I can't do anything simple or like everyone else. I wanted to make mini versions of the pie so that everyone could have thier own. So here is what I came up with. Homemade crust and pie filling prepared by me! They might not be the prettiest things you have ever seen, but they sure were yummy. They only lasted about 10 minutes in the shop. Those boys can eat.

This is a dog that loves his sleeping. When I got out of the shower this morning this is what he was doing. When it was time for me to leave for work and I had to put him outside,I picked him up and he remained limp like a little rag doll. Then he grunted and moaned the entire way outside. When I tried to set him down he refused to put his landing gear down. Believe me, this dog could sleep all.day.long.

No that was not a dig at my husband. This is "Baby" He is Momo's monkey and let me tell you, Momo does not let any of the other dogs touch Baby. He carries Baby everywhere he goes and will seriously take on anyone or anything that tries to touch his monkey.

In effort not to lose all 2 of lovely blog readers, I figure I better post something more than that I didn't take a picture, which I didn't do again today.
How about I tell you a little story about a bike ride gone bad?

Last night I pulled out the pimped out beach cruiser and hauled it to Stockton to go for a ride with Greg, Brandon and Tristell. The plan was to ride to Rene's house. I should have known that it was not going to turn out well when my fancy light refused to work. No worries, I would just stick close to the guys because both of thier bikes had lights. I did have a really cool rear light that looked like a polic light. I'm pretty cool like that.
So Greg and I rode to Brandon and Tristells house to pick them up...and noticed that my rear tire was flat. No worries, thats the joy of rolling with your own personal mechanic. So Greg aired my tire up and we set out to Rene's. Well I only made it about 2 miles when I noticed I was low riding. I look down and sure enough, my back tire is flat. So we all decide to turn around and head back about a mile to a gas station for some fix-a-flat. That lasted about 30 seconds when the tire popped off the rim because it was so flat. Shit! So Greg was nice enough to let me ride his bike and he walked that piece of shit jalopy cruiser to the gas station. I hopped on his bike and made it about another 30 seconds when my flip flop broke. So now its obvious that I am having serious issues. I sucked it up and rode like a little homeless child to the gas station...where it turns out none of us had brought our wallets so we had no money. Double shit. We did get them to turn the air on and put enough air in the tire for Greg and Brandon to haul ass back to Gregs. Me and Tristell just cruised and talked. By the time we got back, the guys had fixed my tire and were checking to make sure it would hold air.

A pirates life for me!!!

I let my jolly roger fly proudly tonight and feasted on beer and nachos(mostly beer) at the bff's house. Then I finally got around to doing something I should have done years ago. I watched Pirates of the Caribbean!!!!
Anyone that knows me knows that I have a passionate love for Rum, trouble and the Ocean. Makes sense then that I would be a pirate, right? In fact, I am 100% sure that I was a pirate in my past life.
