Allyne and I spent the day together. We borrowed Dad's jeep and made Katie Perry proud! We actually accomplished quite a bit and even ended the afternoon doing some wine tasting with Dusty at Jessies Grove. Who did we see at Jessies Grove??? Yep, Jeff Bridges...ok, maybe it was just a guy who looked like him after several tastes of wine!

Christmas Facial 208/157

Travis got me a gift certificate for 2 facials last christmas. I finally got a chance to use the second one today. It was divine. Much nicer than the first one. I was so relaxed I dozed through most of it.

Ode to Sidney 207/158

Sidney Sheldon is one of the greatest authors I have ever had the opportunity to read. I was browsing through Tar-jay and found a book with his name on it. I practically pee'd with excitement. I bought it and realized that it is the sequel to one of his books that was written about 20 years ago. So I requested the original on paperbackswap and re-read that one first. It made me fall in love with Mr. Sheldon all over again. *sigh* He is amazing. Then I started on the sequel. It too was amazing. I noticed that his writing style had changed a tiny bit, but I just figured that he changed over the past twenty years. Well, it turns out he has changed. He died in 2007 *sob* The book was actually written by another auther. One who I will have to keep my eye on in the future.

Since my little goat was home for the weekend, we had to squeeze in as much boating time as possible. We went out tonight, but since I came straight from work I didnt have a bathing suit and could only watch the goat splash around and get his hooves wet.

Patty and Phil and I all helped to plan a surprise birthday trip to Lake Tahoe! Today is Jessie's 21st birthday. I can't believe she is already 21!!!

We all met up at Riva for a birthday dinner and then spent the evening gambling and drinking, the perfect way to celebrate 21.

Today we got up and took the Jeep out on the trail. It was fun...dusty and hot..but really fun. My favorite part was when we got to Spyder Lake and we all hopped in with a bar of soap. You never appreciate water so much as when you are filthy and sweaty.

We left this afternoon for a weekend trip to the Rubicon. Looks like Josh's two tons of fun was getting a little hot inside the cab before we even got there. Oakie A/C at its finest.

I got a phone call around 5:30 saying that the crane blew a tire...less than 2 miles from the house. GRRRRRRRR! So I ran down to pick up Travis so he could grab a spare from the house and then pick up my twin so they could change it. I have to say, these guys would have made nascar proud.

Looks like we aren't the only ones who partied a little too much over the long weekend. Even the fish out at the marina were living it up...or would that be dying it up(side down).

4th of July 182/183

I really can't make up my mind if the fact that I didn't take very many pictures of our 4th of July celebration is a bad thing or a huge blessing in disguise! Something tells me that there are plenty of moments that would have been captured that would be embarassing to not only me, but most of my friends :)
I did remember to take a picture of the cake that Elizabeth made. It was gorgeous and very fluffy. The perfect way to finish off a fabulous day of playing in the pool, drinking beer and watching the fireworks from a floating pool toy. We planned ahead and pulled our trailer over to Kevins house prior to the festivities so no one had to play DD or worry about making it home safely. Not that I slept in it. I found Kevin and Elizabeths bed to be much more comfy and once again, crashed there.

The (somewhat) annual Beyer family reunion was today. Travis' mom's side of the family gets together at thier house to hang out and catch up. It's always nice to get to visit and see everyone, because honestly, we really don't see them all that much. Patty was taking tons of pictures, so as soon as I get my CD I will update with a pic. I'll try not to leave you waiting breathlessly for too long.

I'm just going to be honest. It was probably a good thing I had no camera access today. Today started off a drinking fest that is sure to last thru monday. I picked up a 24 case of corona and some ice on the way to Kevins. Travis and Kevin were already there and later informed me they had already consumed a few beers at this point. Pretty soon Liz came home and she had a 12 pack of Blue Moon and a 12 pack of Budlight. By the end of the night we had no beer left. A little skinny dipping with Liz while the guys worked on the sandrail and next thing I know I was being woken up from thier bed at 2am.
